No, smoking does not reduce weight. This is a common myth that is spread for many reasons. One is, people figure if you gain weight after you quite smoking, you must lose it when you start. This is NOT TRUE! those skinny gals (and guys) on adds are not hin because they smoke.

Okay, this may sound like a health warning at first, but hear me out. If you smoke, you will damamge your lungs and have a hard time breathing. As a result, excercise will be harder so you will have a tougher time losing weight

The only way it could possibly make you lose weight is it makes food less appetizing and taste like smoke, however, you can get the same thing by chewing gum/eating a mint/brushing your teeth (plus your breath will smell better)

I mean, think about it, I am sure you have seen planty fat people who smoke!

If you don't want the obvious risks of smoking stated, then I assume you already know them. So why may I ask would you even consider this as a diet source. There are better choices that won't cost you your life or add health problems to the list.

No, a healthy diet is an effective diet. Don't pay attention to those fad diets - no protein diets or anything like that - just eat sensible, follow the food guides, eat in moderation and excercise 30 min/day.
Smoking, as you are aware is unhealthy, and if you want to look fabulous and healthy with a healthy weight, why ruin it with poor skin (and lungs) from smoking?
Good luck!

Yes, smoking is a very effective diet.
The reason that it is so effective is because it eventually kills the smoker and once a person is dead there is a definite weight loss,.

It is not a diet, it's just that if you quit you gain weight (I think cause you eat more) I am afraid to quit because I don't want to gain weight.
