I cant spend a lot of money, Im trying to save, because I have a baby on the way. But I would like to get him something nice, and meaningful. He does a lot for me.

I love the idea with the frame, and the poems, but is it ok for me to do that... even thought I have wrote him letters like that before.

How about making a nice sit-down meal for the 2 of you -- or all the family, with a birthday cake.

Something homemade is always appreciated. If he does not have any dietary limits bake some goodies(brownies/cookies/cake) or make a great soup with his favorite ingredients(chicken/pork/beef/seafood/veggies) If you can afford to make his favorite meal that would really be appreciated.
Make a scarf or vest (learn to crochet/knit from a friend or a book from the library) This may give you some baby projeacts as well.
A collage of pictures from your childhood and /or his childhood ... cut the pictures to fit clear CD casesand pictures can be changed as needed. Attach to painted cardboard or posterboard or they can hang like a mobile. Put your own verse or a verse from his favorite book with the pictures and/or separately in a CD cases.

The best present you can give him is something from the heart. Write him a poem telling him just what he means to you.
