In a cemetery more daunting than Greenwood, we were lucky to find the adjacent graves of Bruce and Brandon Lee at Lake View Cemetery on Capitol Hill (1554 15th Ave. E.). Far more ostentatious than Hendrix's modest headstone, the father-son memorials claim a scenic station overlooking a sliver of Lake Washington. Polished marble stands three feet high, and a bench allows a leisurely picnic with the deceased. But don't expect solitary intimacy; this unbearably chill Saturday nonetheless saw seven visitors in the span of 20 minutes.

Twelve-year-old Marydell, a tae kwon do aficionado, boasted about being Bruce Lee's biggest fan. A “Deborah” who had just left half a dozen flower bouquets on the scene may have begged to differ.

The Lees reside in one of Seattle's oldest graveyards, the resting ground of local movers-and-shakers in history such as the Dennys (of Denny Way and Hall fame), who claim an impressive family plot atop the hill.

Not me...This is the first I look up where they are buried...

Never been there, but I've always wanted to go as a "pilgrimage" of sorts one day soon.
