Guinness is full of Iron and other minerals, it was a well known fact that Stouts (which is what Guinness is) were a source of Iron and Minerals for some time (as in the advertising campaign in the 60's 70's for Macesson which simple went "Macesson is good for you"). In fact in the 60's and 70's and probably earlier and later, pregnant women with anaemia would drink a bottle or two of stout a day. That would not do today would it LOL.
So to answer your question, yes a couple of bottles or the odd pint of Guinness would be beneficial to your health, but 10 pints a night would not. I could see where this one was heading.

The ONLY way to enjoy Guinness is to go to a real, old Irish pub (in Ireland preferably) full of eccentirc characters, mad farmers, buskers and rebels.
And you have to drink Draught Guinness - it doesn't travel well, you know :-)
As for the adverts, what have they got to do with reality ... ?

Yes, actually. All kinds of beer, esp. lager are very high in nutrients. The Egyptians were often paid in beer for it's health values.
However, the alcohol in beer is very bad for your liver, and alcohol is high in calories.
So yes, if you can afford a liver transplant...

alcohol is poison to your body...that's why if you drink too much of it at one time you can die of alcohol poisoning. That's also why women who are pregnant aren't supposed to drink....because alcohol is so dangerous to the fetus. Because beer and wine are made from natural ingredients they have some health benefits, but the alcohol that's in them is poison to your body. so if you want the health benefits of wine without the poison...eat grapes...and if you want the health benefits of beer without the poison...eat barley. drinking beer or wine for supposed health benefits makes about as much sense as mixing rat poison with orange juice and then drinking it to get your daily dose of Vitamin C.
look up leukocytosis on the internet. leukocytes are white blood cells that make up your immune system .the suffix -osis means an inflammation of. So leukocytosis literally means an inflammation of white blood cells. a high white blood cell count means your immune system is over-producing white blood cells to attack sickness or disease in the body. ingesting a poison like cyanide would result in the most extreme case of leukocytosis. just below cyanide is alcohol, white sugar, white flour, and white vinegar. that means all these things stress your immune system if you ingest them...and who knows what other damage they do in your body before they can be removed by white blood cells. well actually i do know what other damage they can cause because i've read medical research studies on it...it's not pretty.
