No... the whole church vs. state issue. If you forbid prayer and ID (intelligent design) in schools nationwide, then TM should not be taught either. If you permit prayer and teach ID nationwide, then I see no reason to forbid TM either.

However, that didn't stop my 6th grade teacher or my 10th grade social studies teacher from teaching it to me anyway.

It would not be a bad thing to learn. However, from the test scores I have seen, the schools need to concentrate on the basics of spelling, grammar, reading and math. Physical education is also important too with the rise of obesity in the nation.

On the other hand, though, with the violence in the schools, TM could be a very good skill to learn.

Are some schools considering teaching TM? Would there be complaints from some parents?

Meditation has many benefits. Not only is it a great way to relax it also is a great way to explore your inner self. I don't think anyone should be forced to do anything but it would be cool if it was offered.

Good idea! If Christian thought (ie. creationism) can be taught, hey, why not TM? It's only fair, eh? And while the educators are at it, why not Islam and Buddism?

I think the world would be a better place if we were taught basic
Communication skills.
Just using the word YOU, even if we're talking about something
we did ourselves, will put someone on the DEFENSIVE.
We are supposed to use terms like us "someone", or "somebody".
Communications skills help to get around "trigger" words that
make others angry, and then they won't listen to us.

I don't think so, because it can be a form of religion. Like yoga
