Work on the project in school, take the time given to make it good, and have time to fool around at home. Seems pretty logical to me.

Why not finish the project then fool around? Better yet finish the project and turn it in- give the teacher something to do. If you are finishing faster and submitting more work then your classmates maybe you aren't being challenged enough. Depending on your grade level you may want your parents to have a conference with the teacher (high school and back), if you are in college- talk to the teacher. Say what you have said here. But be willing to listen to his/her response. Don't have a hissy fit if the teacher doesn't comply, but go ahead finish the project- I guess you are getting A's on all your work right? Keep getting A's. If the teacher doesn't listen to you after you have proved his/her methods are rediculous its time to go further up the "Chain of Command" hence the head of the department (college) or the Principle (High school and back). Stand your ground. I would keep a journal of your attempts to be heard. And somewhere in the future when you have children and they are having difficulties getting "around" the teachers' that won't budge. You will have evidence your teacher wasn't against you, just not able to deal with students who are not only smarter but deal with tasks easier then they (the teachers) do.
