I live in an historic 100 yr. old house. I don't know if anybody died in my house but some weird things have happened that make me wonder if it's haunted. My 4 yr. old daughter sees "colors" all around her room. It's usually at night before she goes to bed. She will ask me what all of the pretty colors are. I don't see colors. The other night she pointed to a spot on the ceiling and said look at that pretty blue color. I saw a plain white celing. She has done this on numerous occasions. One night I was sitting in bed reading the newspaper and the shade of the lamp on my nightstand rattled and spun partially around. The force of it actually moved the lamp slightly. There was no one around but me. On several occasions we have come home and the back door of our house was either unlocked and partially ajar or standing wide open. I started MAKING SURE it was locked when we left & the same thing still happens. I ck all doors to make sure they are locked before bed.

Last night I checked the front door before going to bed & the hook lock was locked but I could see the actual bolt was not. That requires a key. I went to my purse to get the key and when I came back - within 15 seconds - the hook lock was open. The previous owner states that at times she would hear the front door open and slam shut with no one home. It is a heavy old door that is difficult to open and close. I would appreciate honest and sincere thoughts and insights from one's with similar experiences or those with paranormal abilities. Thank you so much for any help.

By the way, we don't feel afraid here or threatened in any way. I am just curious. I have found pictures of my house in local history books but I have been unable to find out about the people who lived here other than their names and former occupations.

Ok, after posting this question I had my first experience of having the front door open and slam shut on it's own. I think that was a sign someone besides us is here.

It certainly sounds like your house is prone to spirit activity. Obviously this is nothing to worry about as it has shown no grievance to you or your daughter. The fact that your daughter is seeing 'pretty' colours indicates to me that it is nothing to fear. I would suggest getting someone to 'feel' around the house and maybe offer some explanation.
Children are often prone to 'see' things as they have not been programmed to disbelieve in things they cannot see, so to speak.
My youngest often comes out with wierd things and instead of suggesting he can't be, I say that's nice dear arn't you lucky. I rememver as a child seeing and hearing lots of things and my parents instead of saying it's nothing to worry about, either made fun or said don't be silly. I know what I saw was true and I still see things now.

I would get a paranormal expert in there to check it out. It sounds like you may just have a friendly spirit residing with you. I experienced a few things similar to those you describe, when I was living in a different house. The door in my daughters bedroom closet would be open every time I went in there to check on her after I put her to bed. And we always had to make sure it was shut before she went to sleep. I never had it checked though. I think it would be interesting to see what a paranormal had to say. Keep us posted!

Lay off the LSD. And it also sounds like your daughter is getting into your stash. And if you were an intelligent parent, you should have taken your daughter to an optometrist. She may have a degenerative retinal issue in her eyes. This problem can occur at any age. It can originate genetically or from a sudden jar to the head.

yea i actaully see some shadowy movement at my room when is dark but i can still see it is like a actaul human figure but i dont let that bother me...it could be that ur house is huanted but then agian it could be just plain old and thats what causing it and also my door closes by itself to but that is becuase it is not even there could be many explanations so dont just jump and say its huated try to figure out things what could be happening hopefully everthing gos out well

I'd say it's more that your daughter is psychically skilled than the house being haunted. Read up on indigo children.

yes,i think it is haunted.....just get a priest..or move out...
i ,for one,would not feel save in there.
and trust your daughter.,..children see things that you can't see.
