Yup. I've done it before, and I did again just now. But it has to be both inhaling or both exhaling at the same time. You can also expel air from your mouth and inhale air through your nose simultaneously, but the air expelled from the mouth will just have been temporarily stored inside the mouth, and not coming from the lungs.

if you mean both inhaling and exhaling through both at the same time it would be easy. but inhaling air through the nostrils while exhaling through the mouth would require practice and/or inborn talent (and/or nose cleft(^^)). but i saw an NGC episode where natives of south america learn to do just that because they need to constantly play a bamboo flute without pausing for breath. they seem to do it without much effort.

YES! press your tongue down to the bottom of your mouth, and just take one deep breath in, and one out...when you go out, you can feel it coming out of your nose and your mouth! (but keep your tongue down, and don't close off your nostrils!)
