I'm the first grandchild and my grandma felt too young to be called "Grandma" so she had me call her "Ninny." No one thought of what it meant. When I was about ten yrs old, we looked it up and it means "nit wit" or "stupid!" lol She now has 11 grand children and 2 great g children and everyone including family friends call her "Ninny."

My mom didn't want ot be called grammy either. I told her to pick. My kids call her Gigi. everyone loves it, she thinks its cool, and my kids aren't confused when talking about grandmas...they have Grandma, Grammie and Gigi.
(plus they say it at a very young age because it is easy to say)
Congrats!
