If you never find "the one", it is up to you NOT to live a cold life. Make the most of the hand you're dealt and do everything you can to make your life happy, exciting and fulfilled. There is no rule about an age limit on finding the right one. He/she could be through that next door you open.

hmmm, is your life over if you never find the one? I for one don't think I will ever find the one, and I am really happy with that. Instead, I live an independent life, travelling for work, and meeting friends around the world. But if it truly is what you really want for your life and your still waiting for the one to walk through your door, then I suggest, learn to be happy with yourself. Learn to enjoy being on your own. Just because your on your own doesn't mean you'll be lonely. And lets be honest, life is what you make of it, it doesn't have to be a cold life. Please don't put all your happiness into the image of "the one" cause you might be dissapointed.

People who are alone die sooner than people who have a life partner (marriage or not).
People who are alone are also less healthy. This is not ALWAYS the case- example: you got skin cancer on your back, unless someone's looking at your back, you might not find it before it metastizies.
