Job 35:10 "God, my Maker, who giveth songs in the night."

It is easy to sing in the daytime when all is well and the wind is stirring and the flowers are made bold. But can we sing praises at night? Can we praise God for all the unknown, all we can not see, for all the uncertainty...?

What is your "night time" these days? What are you struggling with, desiring and not receiving? My desire is for a child, but we keep running into one brick wall after another.

I am trying to praise God that I can not get pregnant, because if he has not allowed it to be so, then it must be for the best. But it is a hard praise to sing.

When was the last time you praised God for what He has not blessed you with?

Headnurse: You are sweet. I am certainly not looking for "fertility" answers here on Y! I know that there are followers of Christ who understand what it means to offer praise and thanksgiving, even in the darkest of moments. I only wanted to hear of other's who praise that it might encourage me to do what I know I should do. PS. We did the whole herb thing. :)

Your right to praise for those things that are hard, that we don't understand. That is why is called a sacrifice of praise. Because sometimes it is just that.

I struggle with my unsaved children and the desire not to see them lost. I praise God that he has given them grace every day to still be here and have time to make a choice. There are many things in my life that I praise God, when it has been so hard all I want to do is cry out WHY Lord, this hurts. But I know that I have Jesus praying for me. How can I get down and stay there when He is praying for my best.

Continue to pray for a child. God will fufill you somehow. Take care, and be blessed in Jesus.

The house that I really wanted. My husband and I were looking to buy a home, and we found this wonderful fixer-upper, ideal in every way... except the roof was questionable, the stairway to the basement was really unsafe (and the basement's exterior wall had a hole in it), and the fireplace was clogged with... unidentifiable stuff (I really don't wanna guess what that mass of stuff was).

We'd always wanted a fixer upper, and this one... twice as big as the home we're in now, and only 1/3 of the cost... right near the town's clock tower (something we absolutely loved) and just off the main street... but we found that no mortgage company would offer a loan for a fixer upper for a first time home buyer. We were really disappointed. I cried and prayed that God would make a way for it to happen.

Nothing happened. I came to accept that the answer was "not right now". And even though my husband was disappointed, and I was heartbroken (IMHO, the place was one step short of perfect... it would have been perfect if it was on a larger plot of land [as opposed to having 2 feet of grass for a front and backyard]), even so, I thanked God for the "no"... because that meant that *something* was seriously wrong with the house, and it was not in our best interests to get it.

AFAIK, the house is still on the market. Maybe one day, we might be able to, if it is in God's will to ensure that it stands that long, and stays on the market that long... but I accept the fact that now is not the time.

For all I know, it could have been a deathtrap if we had moved in. I don't know. But the fact He said no is good enough for me. ^_^

All the time. Sometimes what we see as a bad thing, is
a good thing.
Like the other day, I didn't get my pain medicine, but did get my muscle relaxers. I was mad.
But an old girlfreind came by that got me hooked on crack. I know, if I had had those pills, she would have bugged me till I either smoked some, or gave her a bunch to get rid of her.
She got mad and left because I didn't have any money. And I
didn't have to worry about getting started back on that CHIT,
and still had my medicine, which I got the next morning.

I dont specifically praise Him for things that He "hasnt' done in my life, but throughout the day, I do praise and sing praises to Him Just because he is God and he is divine.

There are two times when I Praise Him:

When I feel like it - and when I dont feel like it.

so you are not a mother.
no wonder you can not understand me
you wont be a mother until you find a heart
a true heart that could be filled with love not a fake one
keep your hatred toward yourself
i do,t need your answers
i have enough anger toward people like you
do not need to see you
i have anger but i never let hatred come to me
unlike people like you who think they are...
and they going to heaven for all the bad the do to others
for your information last week i brought her to doctor and he said that those banging is just a way to relief her from pain
and that pain you know who were the cause

Amen to your question. I totally need to share on this one. Remember Sarah who laughed when God told her she was going to have a baby at her age? Then she really did give birth to Issac. Remeber Hannah who cried because she was barren and could have no children and then Eli came and found her and told her she would have a child a year from that time and she did give birth to the great prophet Samuel. And, remember Zechariah and Elizabeth in Luke 1 who were without child and then an angel came to them and told them they would be the parents of John the Baptist at their old age, and they did. Don't be afraid, just believe! As for me, my world is falling down on my head! God has brought me through so many things, he brought me thru the shelter system to an apartment. Then off of welfare to a job at a law firm. From my apartment to my house i'm in now. AND STILL I DOUBT!!! Far be it from me to be disappointed anymore. Thank you for this question to open my eyes. Please pray that things will work out for me to find a great room mate for my new household who will be just right for me and my daughter & I will be praying for you as well. :o)

Great Question. I did this morning I worked for a company and they have not paid me I need the money very very bad, but they could not withold this money from me without my Fathers permission. All things work together for good to them that love the Lord and them that are called according to his purpose.

He has a reason for everything he allows!
