I didn't have dental insurance when I had them pulled a few years ago. It cost me $1000 for the sugary (included the anesthesia), and I had to pay about $10 for my post surgery pain killers (I had insurance for that though). The pain killers are just a generic ( but STRONG) pain killer, so you should not have to pay to much for it. Other then that, you just need to buy some cotton swabs and tea bags (to help heal the area) and you should be set. By the way,a lot of oral surgeons will have payment plans to help those who can't come up with the cash right away, so I wouldn't worry to much about the money.

How old are you? Wisdom teeth start to appear in the mid teens to early twenties. Is this the first time that they have started to hurt? It is not uncommon to have some pain and discomfort when the wisdoms first break through the gums. Once they have come through and if there is enough room for them in your mouth, they can stay there and you'll be able to use them just like your other teeth. If, however, the gums around the partially erupted wisdom teeth become infected and a fairly regular basis (more than twice in a year), you will have to consider having them removed. The signs and symptoms are fairly obvious- the gums are red and swollen around the teeth, your face may even be swollen and it may be difficult to open your mouth wide. You'll then have to get the infection under control with some anti-biotics prior to having them removed. Depending on how badly your teeth are impacted you may have them taken out by your dentist or by an oral surgeon. By sounds of things you'll most probably want to be sedated or even have a general anaesthetic (lot more money!). Worst case scenario.. your face will be swollen and bruised for up to a week. Many patients carry on with their daily life as if nothings happened. Much depends on the amount of trauma caused during the operation.... Really not too big a deal! Good luck!

It can cost well over $1,000. You need to go to a specialist. You will also need to be sedated (put asleep) this is surgery, something most regular dentists don't do.

See if there is a dental school college in your area and contact them. They may be willing to take care of this for you at much less cost.

Maybe you can wait to have it done when you have insurance.

I would say $1000 sounds about right. Dental insurance is so worth it.

Depends on if they are impacted or not. It could run anywhere between 150-350 per tooth depending on if they are impacted. And then if you are gonna do it under IV sedation which is another 400 bucks give or take depending on where you live. Just gonna have to get a consult from your dentist.
