Amen is a Hebrew declaration meaning "So be it; Truly". In some Christian churches, the congregation is likely to call out "Amen!" in response to points in a preacher's sermon. Metaphorically, the term can refer to any group of heartfelt traditionalists or supporters of an authority figure.

One must consider the national origin of the word. Amen means "so be it." It is used incorrectly a lot of times. If a preacher says, "People are dying and going to hell", amen is a poor response, etc.

"Amen" is used at the end of prayer or something someone has said that people heartily agree with. It has nothing to do with "men" or "women." Here is the Webster's definition of amen....... "word used to express solemn ratification (as of an expression of faith) or hearty approval (as of an assertion)."

Amen isn't about gender, it is from a Hebrew word (×××: aw-mane) that means "I agree". So that's all people are saying when the say "Amen"
