00 44 then leave out the first zero of the dialling code of the person you are calling. i.e 0044 173401010101010 (btw this is a made up number)

To dial internationally from the US, dial 011, then the country code (44 for the UK), then the city code, omitting the 0.

Dial 00 to dial out of the US then 44 to dial into the UK then your UK area code without the first zero (e.g. 20 to dial into London instead of 020) then the actual phone number. So if you wanted to phone someone in London, you would dial 00 44 20

I ring from France to the UK and it's 0044 then take the 1st digit off the phone number you are calling. for example if it is 02380 888888 then you would dial 0044 2380 888888
