If you know the gender of the questioner.............

When you answer a question, are you influenced if it is a guy or a girl?
If you thought it was a guy, would your answer or language be different?

Excellent question. I would like to say that my answers are completely objective, but I know myself better than that. Most of us are conditioned by society in how we relate to the sexes. The content of my answers is the same regardless of the gender of the asker, but I'm pretty sure that my "technique" varies, based on gender. In person, when interacting with a woman or a man, I'm sure my body language, eye contact and thought processes are based upon societal conditioning. I believe that carries over to written expression as well.

Also, my answers tend to vary, depending upon the perceived education level of the questioner.

My answer tends to depend on the question. The question may determine the nature of the gender answer.

My answer would be based on the Question not the gender of the person.

A person's gender doesn't influence me in the least, nor does their religion. Other than the question itself, what influences me is their tone, the attitude they exhibit.

No, I tend to ignore the gender of the person, unless I'm praying for them (when I refer to an individual as he or she, as it's really awkward calling them (s)he or he/she or it or they).

Since I'm usually oblivious to their gender, my language doesn't change at all. Even if I am aware of it, my language still doesn't change, since I speak from my heart to their mind, and not from a woman's opinion to a male's or female's intellect.

Dear FCI,

I think I have to agree with what Hog says - not intentionally but maybe.

Since you ask I realize that I find myself influenced more by what I perceive to be the age of the asker.

I am only influenced by the question at hand. And as for this one... Why is it being asked in the religion and spirituality forum?

yeah, if I answer a question in a female dominated section and they choose my answer as best it is often plain that they think I am another female, and they think somehow that I am a kinder, gentler form of roadkill. But if they think I am a guy they treat me as just a regular form of roadkill.

No, not really. I pay little attention to who I'm answering. I just answer the question.

It really depends on the content of the question.
