Simply put, how are you able to view the glass as half-full?

Elaborate if you will please. Thank you.

My perception of seeing the glass as half empty or half full is dependent on what is in the glass at the time. I don't call that being an optimist or a pessimist, I call that being a realist.

For me, it is simply a matter of working with what I have. If there is something in the glass, that's better than nothing in the glass.
I mean unless the contents of the glass are poison or something, in which case an empty glass might be better, but at least with a half-full glass, I have some option about what to do. Maybe I want some poison to get rid of rats.
Sorry. Digression.
A matter of the possible as opposed to the wished-for. I look at the half-full glass and I say "It isn't much, but it's something and something is better than nothing." I have friends who would look at the same glass and say "It isn't enough".
It is the difference between trying and not trying. I'll drink the half-glass and I'll make an attempt. If I only stood there looking at the emptiness at the top of the glass, I might decide to give up on having a drink. It is simply that I would rather try and fail than never try and never know.
Thanks Spooky. Nice way to start my day.

It's a choice, that becomes easier as searching for the good things, even in bad situations, has become a habit.

I've also noticed that the hardest times in my life seem the sweetest when I look back on them, probably because that's when the most personal growth happens. So I'm really struggling, I tell myself "A year from now, this is going to be a wonderful memory."

There is always room for more! ; )
More knowledge, more love, more friends, more wisdom, more peace. Half empty suggests a regression. Half full suggests progression. I could never absorb all that the Universe has to offer in one lifetime. But why would I chose not to keep learning and growing, for that is what this life is for! And I will be a sponge, absorbing more 'til the day I die!
Blessed Be.... ; )

A positive attitude is a choice I make on a minute to minute basis. Every thing that occurs can be seen in a positive light if you try hard enough.

I don't like the way being negative makes me feel, so you could say that optimism is a selfish act on my part!

I just can't imagine going through life looking at things negatively, so everymorning I decide that glass is half full. It's not easy either.

I believe that things will get better, if you wait, and I always say that life could be worse, and then I count blessings, and when I feel really low I turn to God and pray ( I know that you probably did not want to read that ) that usually makes me feel better. Awesome Question Spooky !

Through experience I know that if I view something as bad, it is bad. So I have chosen to view things with Hope. Hope is precious.

Our reality is shaped by our own perception.

I view it as having an over-abundance of capacity.

It is never half full or half empty.
