Hello there:
No this is not true. A tattoo has nothing to do with the requirements for giving an organ.
Years before, tattooing parlour's weren't the most sanitary and some people did get blood disorders or Hepatitis. But in the last 15 years the conditions to be met in Tattoo Shops are watched very closely.

The only thing with tattoos and women that they have found is when a woman gets a tattoo on the lower back (at the waste line) she might have trouble during childbirth.
They say the ink used sometimes has an effect when they use an epidermal and causes problems.
I hope this helps and anything else just ask!

Haven't heard that one. I know with blood donation, you can't for a year after, but have heard nothing about tattoos cancelling out organ donations. If that were the case, I'm sure the organ shortage would be even worse.

That's no longer precise...believe me, if you happen to had been mind useless and so they wanted your organs and had been hassling your household to signal the forms to show off the machines and donate your organs, they would not supply a crap that you simply had tattoos. I think the entire men and women looking forward to new organs might lift holy hell if medical professionals threw away a flawlessly well liver, kidney, lungs, and so on, simply due to the fact the 21 yr historical donor had somewhat center tattoo on her hip.

No that is not true. However, there is a period of time that must pass before you are suppose to donate blood, due to the possibilities of getting something from the needle such as Hep or AIDS. Unfortunately, its been 5 years since I got mine so I don't remember how long the wait is.

no. The only thing that they look for is health issues or drug use. When my brother died, his heart and kidneys got donated. and he had a tattoo.

False. If this was the case, they would ask you if you had tattoos when putting our name on the donor list.

I don't think so! The tatoos are on your skin not in your organs. Those are two different things i don't know who said that to you.
