I always found the best thing was to wash the childs hair , cover their hair in lots and lots of conditioner(leave it in) then use a fine metal comb, they cannot hang onto the hair this way, another reccomendation of mine that works is to use tea tree oil shampoo on your childs hair (headlice hate it apparently) only wash once or twice a week also! Since using the tea tree I have never had a problem since. Good luck

The only thing you can really do is just sit down and go through her hair over and over with the comb. Do it when her hair is wet and also when it is dry. If she has long hair it will take a lot of time.
But there really isn't a better way. By metal comb I assume you mean the comb that comes with the treatment. If not you can buy a comb specifically for nit removal. There are many different types. You just may need to buy a different kind.
Most times the most nits are near the ears and neck. that's where you are going to find the majority. Just keep at it and make sure you treat yourself and the rest of the family...including bedding and clothing. If you don't...they will just keep coming back.

Wash head thoroughly in warm water, apply a suitable shampoo..
Nits & headlice are increasing mainly becoz of uncleanliness. As it becomes more sweaty, it becomes more joyful for nits to sticks and reproduce. Have bath daily and after sweaty biz, keep clean!

I remember, long back my granny used to have a wooden vertical comb called 'nit cracker' which when tried to pull through hair traps the nits & lice. That was very effective... I'm not sure whether it's available in market nowadays!

I have found that coating the hair with babyoil and then using the nit removing comb really gets the job done.
