I would like to get one of those dogs that nobody wants and they're getting ready to kill. Then I'd have somebody to share this horror show with.

I would say, Yes. Adopt a dog or cat and involve yourself with their care and well-being, and they will reward you with devotion and affection and company. It will also allow you to let your own human feelings grow in a safe way, until maybe someday you'll meet a person with a pet and you'll find yourself striking up a conversation, and making another friend.

There is much about the human race to despise, but conversely, there is just as much to admire and love. Pets bring out the best in us, I think (unless you're some kind of psychopath to begin with, which I don't believe for a minute) and let us enjoy some of the best things in life.

Good luck, I wish you well.

Yes, pets are good for antisocial people. Your dog will always love you and never judge you on how you look or what you say. Just be sure that you are ready for the drawbacks of having a pet like having to clean up after it and always being responsible for it - you can't be gone from the house for very long because it will have to go out to poop and such.

Bless you for wanting to get a rescue dog. You can go to the pound, or if there is a specific breed that you like, you can go to www.petfinder.com and find a needy pet in your area that matches your needs.

I think getting an animal for someone who is lonely is a good idea but make sure that this person is an animal lover. Some people who dont like dogs or cats but it might be a good idea to go to a shelter and get an animal that needs a good home and it would do you some good to pick out an animal that is looking for a good home.

pets are definately good alternatives. Dogs love you unconditionally, forever and always and are ALWAYS happy to see you when you get home. they devote their whole hearts to you and just wait for any moment that you want to spend with them.
go for it! Cats are alittle more independent and do their own thing typically.

Just because you like animals more than people does NOT mean that you need a shrink. Shrinks mess you up more than how you were when you started anyways.. so don't listen to any of these morons. the longer I work in law enforcement the more I love my dog.

Pets are great for anyone as long as they're willing to accept the responsibility of keeping one. I think it's a great idea to save an animal from being killed if you can.

I think that it's great to have a pet for companionship, but be ready - animals are a natural magnet to other people - if you're walking your dog, people will want to talk to you about him/her, etc. If you really don't want to deal with people, get a cat....

You are a human being. Do you despise yourself? And if you despise human beings, you shouldn't need someone to share any horror show. And dogs nobody wants are stray dogs. Fierce dogs are in demand, that's why they are bred. Think well before you post. You contradict. If you didn't, it would be worth discussing.

Absolutely. I always say that the more people I meet, the more I appreciate my dog. A dog's love is unconditional.
