Obsession gets in the way of daily life and ruins relationships with others and eventually fills a person with anxiety which cannot be overcome easily. If you see yourself ruining your relationships and your own goals, then you need to seek help for the obsession. OCD is a mental health situation that requires professional help.
Thinking that there is more to the world than what we can see and seeking after faith is not an obsession. Invest some time and energy into seeking God. Look to those you see as wise to guide you. Attend services with believers giving thanks and worshipping God. Pray for God to lead you and teach you how to grow in faith.
People may fail you or let you down - none of us are perfect, but I believe if you humbly seek God you will meet him.
Don't focus on one leader or concept of believe that is extreme and demands mindless obedience - like a cult.
Consuming interest in everything "spiritual" idea could be very confusing and frustrating, so find a direction.
Look for a balance of learning, experience, and faith. You need to make an individual personal decision about what you believe, but belonging to a community of believers is also vital.
I am a Christian and my faith is part of every other part of my life. I consider my fellow believers to be part of my life as a Christian too. I believe good and evil really exist, sin is real, but so is God's forgiveness and incredible love. I hope you find peace & love in your search!

If this gets out of hand, like you can't go to school or work or take care of the kids, yes it is an obsession and you should seek help. But everybody gets stuck on something once in a while. Get outside while the weather is still good or go the gym .Exercise can put bad thoughts into perspective.
Check out this page for good info on ghosts and stuff.

In a world of uncertainty it is perfectly natural to seek purpose and meaning but keep it in perspective and don't let it become an obsession.

If you are fixated on death, you should see a qualified counselor. A little interest in the paranormal is fine, but a death wish is dangerous.
