I know that I need a cup that is the "wrap around" kind, not the flat kind. What I don't know is how to buy one and if there are differnt kinds and if I need to buy a jock strap to keep the cup in place or if there is some kind of special underwear that has a "cup slot" that I'd put the cup into. Never played sports in high-school so I've not had to deal with this before.

When you buy it, it comes with the jock strap with a pocket that the cup slips into. Make sure it goes under the bottom further than the normal "triangle" kind since you will be lifting your leg and can get kicked in the perineum.

OK go to a sporting goods store and tell them you need a Banana Cup and Jock strap. The Banana cup is longer and curved more than a regular cup so it protects all of your valuables. You will need that for martial arts class because of all the kicking and different motions your body will be in.

Usually a jock strap is worn to keep a cup in place. They are sold as a set (strap & cup). Go to any sporting goods store.

Go to a sporting goods store. The people there will likely have some good ideas. If you're not comfortable with that, I agree with the other poster. Ask someone in your class.
