What Should I do?

Me and my boyfriend had unpotected sex and i had a regular period. After i had my period i went to the docter cuz i was feeling sick. When i took the 1st test the doctors said it looked positive. but weren't sure so the took it again and it turned out negative Aren't they supposed to know the 1st time. should i go take a blood test to be 100% sure? how do i tell my mom i want to take a Blood test ?she doen't want me to cuz she doesn't want it to be true. But the truth does hurt. I really need help?/???

You aren't supposed to take 2 tests in the same day.

Here's a hint: don't have unprotected sex.

But either way, you should get a blood test. They can do it w/o your mother knowing. It's the law I believe.

Buy a pregnancy test at your local drug store. Take the test at home. If it says you are pregnant, then you are. These tests only look for a specific hormone that is produced when you are pregnant.

If you don't want to do that, then a blood test at the doctor's office is the most reliable way to find out. Waiting isn't going to make you any less pregnant and it is better to find out now so that you can start pre-natal care and make a decision about what you are going to do about your pregnancy and how you are going to take care of a baby.

I would wait a couple of weeks and then take another test. As with any test...even at the Doctors office , you can get a false positive. Let this be a lesson if you are not pregnant....use protection if you are going to be sexually active. Or get on the pill.

If you live in Canada, you can get a Blood test covered by OHIP and it would be confidential between you and your doctor. Your mom would never know.
A blood test is the best way to detect the hCG hormone to confirm pregnancy.
