Its due to both the influencen of Western media (including television) and the fact that its an English-speaking world, technologically and historically due to colonisation the past 200 years and the last 2 world wars. Yes, some are attracted to western cities (not necessarily some of the American ones) but these could have arisen due to economic and/or political reasons.

I think pictures say a thousand words but word of mouth is a big cause.

The most likely cause is Presidente Vicente Fox's encouragement. He even created a comic book on how to illegally enter the United States.

I believe Fox wants to recolonize the United States into the property of Mexico.

Their is TV in Mexico. my friend has a small vacation home out in the desert of Mexico. all you need is a cheap direct TV satellite dish and you get all the channels we get, and more!
