My boyfriend was talk to his friend from work about the lottery and said " I don't know if I would dump her (meaning me) if I won the lottery. I don't think I would".
How would you take this?

We live together and have been dating for 10 months. His friend was saying that his wife told him that she would dump him if she won the lottery so that's what prompted my boyfriend's comment. I told him this morning that it hurt my feelings and he told met that the point was that you never know how you'll act when you come across that kind of money, which is true. But I still think it's not something you say to your girlfriend even if you think it. It's just good dating common sense. Stupid ***.

Sounds like you are not very secure in this relationship. Guys sometimes just talk crap with their friends. You can either ignore what you heard or talk about it. Always be upfront in your relationships. This might even help your insecurity. Be prepared for his answer, you might not like what he has to say. Respect yourself over your relationship, then men will respect you.

Well, winning the lottery is like 1 in a million bazillion chances, so it is highly unlikely that he will win, but sounds like he's pretty young and just thought about what he could do with all that money....he would want to party. I guess that would make him happy, but it wouldn't last long. He'd come crawling back to you but you would have already found someone that truly loved you....You need to tell him that it hurt you when he said that and it sucks b/c you wouldn't dump him if you won.

I'd be pissed off! Money does make people change, but what are the chances of him hitting it big in the lottery? Just the very thought of him considering dumping you for money is enough to dump him now!

Someone who could buy anything he wanted if he won, why would he need you, Maybe I'll keep her around if I feel like it. so immature of him..
but remember money does lots of strange things to people. If he has a big ego, I would find someone else before he wins the lottery..which is probably not going to happen.. but let the hope of it help keep him warm at night....
He obviously doesn't need you by his side...
Find someone who does....

Aww he really loves you then. I mean not only is he talking about you around his frinds, but he is willing to keep you around when he's rich and girls will be all over him. He really loves you. But thinking is different than doing. But until he wins the lottery you're in the clear...lol

I would think he better be joking because even in jest that's a crappy thing to say.
I say, you dump him first, then win the lottery yourself.

what's your connection with the lottery? the fact that he talked about dumping you, i think you should feel insulted and dump him.

That he is not really into the relationship, tell him how you feel. If he acts like he doesn't care then I would say it's over.

if he is saying it in front of you I would just laugh because obviously he is teasing you, however if he is saying it to your friend when you are not listening I would question your bf,
