I'm sure its not oven proof..do I cover the handles with foil? Does that really work?

I thought so, too, how would covering handles prevent them melting- but I SWEAR Rachel Ray & Sara Moulton said it!

Some you can some you can't does it say on the bottom somewhere the ones I just baught said it on the packaging that I could put it in the oven without the handles melting. I don't think foil would work as that too would heat up probably melting the handle if it's not made for the oven.

No, the handles will still melt. You can use a iron skillet in the oven.
