what's wrong with Sassy? When you check a kitten for the sex of the kitten you should wait until they are 6 weeks or older. Then look between their legs ( you know where to look) if the two holes they have are real, real close together...GIRL..if there is a space between the two holes..BOY...I have had several mother cats that have had several kittens(everyone one in neighbor hood has one of my kittens) and I have yet to be wrong!!Good luck with Sassy. You could change his name to Simon..that's my male cat's name and he really likes it.

Chances are he is answering to the assy part. So you dont want him to be Sassy Man huh? lol Well, try Classy, Dashy, Massy? I feel like Im trying to name Santa's reindeer. Anyways... the thing that you should do next time you get some kitties or a cat is find out its age and if it has been spayed or neutered, if its older, then you may not be able to tell unless the people that you get it from know. But if they are kittens give them a few weeks, little girls will have nothing while the little boys will have nuts. You should be able to see these, and feel them. I know it doesnt sound like the best thing to pass the time but hey if it were your baby you would wipe its butt and wash your hands. Think of it like that. Good luck with future kittens and a new name. Most cats like the y and ie sounds. Bassy, Sammy?

WHat concerns me plenty approximately your question is that once you point out you will get kittens for unfastened "yet then i could could take them to the vet to deworm, photos" once you're feeling hesitant approximately taking an animal to the vet for a examine up and the requirements then you extremely rather shouldn't get a mammal. rather get a fish. even with the undeniable fact that in case you would be ar esponsible proprietor then concerning to your different questions I furnish this techniques. confident, a grown cat or a minimum of approximately 4 to 6 month previous kitten is way less complicated to undertake as you're assured that he/she is muddle experienced etc. The shelters have some outstanding cats who're desperate for properties and supply you with super exhilaration. yet whilst your coronary heart is set on a kitten then even that's a sturdy undertaking as there are too many kittens besides. with regard to the spraying - whilst a male is neutered he does no longer might desire to spray to mark his territory so as that addreses that undertaking. the truthfully surgical operation to neuter a cat ( which you're able to do - please ) is plenty less difficult for a male than a girl and occasional-fee besides. this could be a factor which will impact your determination.

How about calling Sassy "Sampson" (or "Samson" depending on how you want to spell it?) Sound-wise it's *kind* of similar. Or you could just call him Sammy instead of sassy. Just change a couple letters in there.
Those are my suggestions, but of course, since it's your cat, the decision is ultimately yours.
By the way - they tell you the same thing with rabbits. They're very hard to distinguish male and female when they're young - you have to wait a few months to really know if they're male or female. At the baby stage their organs are still too small to distinguish. We had the same issue with our rabbits, so we just named them non-gender specific names: Snowball, Pepper, Thumper, etc...

I know it's weird, but I had this happen to me too. Several years ago we had 2 kittens. A grey tiger stripe and an orange tiger stripe. I was sure they were girls and named them Maryanne and Ginger. When they were a little older we found out they were both males. Boy did I feel stupid! We tried to change their names too. I thought maybe Gilligan and Skipper, but that didn't go over too well with them either. Maybe you can call him Sammy or Samsy or Sassy-Pants. I don't know, it's a hard one. Hope you have better luck than I did!!!

LOL. Sassy can be a good name for a cat - sounds like you need to stick with "neutral" names! I'll see if I can find a link to show you how to determine sex in kittens for the future. :-) It's a little tricky when they're young. :-)

You really cant tell if they are male or female for a week or two to make sure. My cat had kittens 2 days ago and it is easy to tell. One is a male and the other is a female.

Put 2 bowls of food out, one pink and one blue. The ones that go to the pink one will either be female or gay

If it was truly a kitten, it would be hard to tell right away. Just like any male, it takes time to grow balls!
