what happens when your accused for something and the case is dropped by the police for not enough evidence against you and you know that you were falsely accused for something that went out of hand and get a letter from your solicitor that a fee has to be paid even thou you are innocent the the solicitor was a duty one when you were arrested at the time and you are not prepared to pay it cant the person that accused you pay the bill and how do you go about doing that.

The only way I know to get the bill paid is that you would have to sue the person that falsely accused you in court. It can be a long drawn out battle and you have to take into consideration that if you lose the case you are going to have more court cost and legal fees to pay. To have any chance at all you are going to really have to have the evidence to prove your innocents and have your case well prepared before you even take it to court.
I don't know your case but a lot of the time it can be one hell of a fight in court. You could very well end out paying a lot more in the long run. This I know from personal experience.

In the UK there is a government scheme where any duty solicitor giving advice in a police station is free. The scheme is non-means tested which means even if you are a millionaire you wouldn't need to pay for the advice. Your local Citizens Advice Bureau can help you with this

First of all duty brief's are free and secondly unless you'v got loadsa money to proceed against the polce , just forget it an move on .
