i always use cold water to brush my teeth, its just come naturally and i do not have any problems with my teeth at all (touch wood it stays that way) so if i have never had a problem with my teeth cold water cant be that bad..i think its just a natural thing we do without even realising.maybe its bec our bodies prefer warm water like for baths,so wen we touch water for washing the car etc we automatically choose warm, but our mouths prefer cold water to drink which makes us choose cold water for cleaning teeth and maybe the people who clean their teeth with warm prefer warm drinks..
but thats just my guess...

You shouldn't use warm water from the tap to clean your teeth with as it has been in a hot water tank and can contain bacteria that could make you poorly. Never drink warm water from a tap.
There is no reason why you can't boil a kettle and let it cool down a bit and use it to clean your teeth but this is obviously time consuming.
Please read this if you don't believe me! You are putting water in your mouth that has been in a hot water tank that could have sludge and slime at the bottom of it. Fact. Do you know what the bottom of your tank looks like? I wouldn't drink it.

I clean my teeth in the shower, so it's really quite warm.

I run the water till it's good and hot - then I'll hold my brush under the water for a bit till the bristles are softer - THEN I'll add the toothpaste & begin brushing. I don't like to use cold water to brush my teeth - not sure if that's a personal quirk or what, but
that's how I've always done it!!

The temperature of the water has very little to do with how well you clean your teeth. It's all about having the proper technique to remove plaque effeciently.

That's disgusting! Cold water from the tap is clean and drinkable. Warm or hot water from the tap is not! Yuk.

Because the cold tap is drinking water, water from the hot tap is not fit to drink.

I brush my teeth mostly in the shower. I prefer warm water - just because my teeth are so sensitive.
