PROTEIN shakes will not suppress hunger. protein shakes are made so that your body digests them quickly so to supply your muscles with what they need to repair themselves. A typical protein shake is digested in 1 hour. Another form of protein called Casein does take longer to digest. this protein is found in milk and can take up to 4-6 hours to digest. Some people say that milk helps you lose weight and maybe this is why. but i dont know. personally i suggest you just get on a healthy diet high in protein low in carbs and do cardio 3-5 times a week.

When it involves protein powders, watch out. You do not wish to shop for a giant jar of some thing that tastes like sawdust considering you with no trouble would possibly not use it if you do not just like the style of it. I use EAS one hundred% Whey Protein. It's splendid at curtailing my starvation and it tastes beautiful well. I bought a 2lb jug from Target on sale for $15. Next time I'm going to head for a 5lb jug. More product in step with buck than the 2lb.

My son was wanting to drink protein shakes to bulk up. The lady at GNC told me you can use them to lose weight, though, if you mix it with skim milk or water. But I think they would be pretty nasty. My son mixes it with ice cream and milk and says it's still really gritty.

Its definitely good to have protein and fiber in the diet
Consuming protein can stave hunger

The mixes you buy at GNC, etc. are good but can be gritty to taste
The premixed usually contain sugar so avoid them

The problem is the taste is not so good

Any kind of protein slows the digestive system and helps stave off hunger. The shakes can actually make you spend alot of time in the bathroom, and lean proteins such as chicken breast and low-fat cheese, beans, yogurt, are better for you.

Optimum Nutrition Whey Protien at GNC. It's instantized so it dissolves easily. It is not gritty and the chocolate tastes fine to me. I usually drink mine in a cup of coffee.
