I guess there was some fine print at the bottom of Moses's tablet, eh?

That actually says thou shalt not murder in the original language.Romans chapter 13 gives some insight on how Christians should view the governing people over them. Verse 4 says it does not bear the sword in vain. Talking about the political leaders right to kill those in disobedience, thus the death penalty is approved of by God.
That command is part of the OT law and if you read the OT you will find God commanded his people to kill certain people. Try reading the Old Testament sometimes. Did you not know that God took away Saul's kingship because he refused to kill Innocent women and children and even cattle? God wanted Saul to kill every living thing in that region.
Now before you send me hate mail remember I am pagan and do not accept the bible as God's holy word. I did not write the bible I just point our some things Christians fail to see. If you do not like what it says blame God or Paul, not me. .

...correct, but He left out the other part. Which is based on self- preservation. Self Defence means if you must....
In terms of your statement about the Crusades, or religous war, hehe...it's been said before that we will meet our end no matter what. So, when you refer to God and this commandment, remember the "other" dangers He left for us to seek out and contend with- Asteriods, Comets, and the possibility of the existance of Aliens. And when you consider these dangers to mankind, and our planet, remember we are just 1 of perhaps millions of lifeforms in the Cosmos. I disregard all the so called commandments-and God, because we are IN FACT only a ripple in the vast waters of the Universe.
We could be subjected to far more realities besides those written
in the bible. We could find that 1 day, sooner or later, that we become slaves to a new order founded by another intelligence; I mean, who's to say that if other being's came here- they would be peaceful? We don't know, but we do know that there is a strong possibility that they are out there. The possibility of danger
from "space", to me is more realistic than reading the bible and finding answers as to what and why.
I feel badly for those who have lost their lives in the name of God,
I only wish I could go back in time to them all, and tell them what a waste it will come to be killing in the name of a God that should have started all over once she ate the apple. I don't believe in any of it. God failed if he existed ever at all.

First of all, you don't qualify your Number, you just throw it out there, what's your source ?
Secondly, Christians have never fought a war in Jesus Name ! Don't pull out that tired old argument that Christians some how are Responsible for The Crusades. That was a Response to the Blood Thirsty Violent Islamic Expansionism. They Had to Fight, or die.

The commandment is Thou shalt not murder.
Having said that, justifying murder by saying it's in God's name is hypocritical.

The figure 100,000,000 is totally absurd. However, yes, Christians are sinners. That's why we need a Savior to lead us home. The Church of God isn't a club for saints. It's a hospital for sinners.

TRUE Christians don't kill anybody. At John 13:35, Jesus taught his followers that love was an identifying mark of true Christianity. He even commanded that they love their enemies. TRUE Christians do not go to war to slaughter their fellow man for ANY REASON.

Where did God say "thou shalt not kill?"
Where did you get the idea that 1,000,000,000 people have been killed in his name alone?
Isn't that a bit exaggerating?

God said thou shalt not commit murder, which is quite different from kill - which often takes place during war.
People live, people die. Life is a terminal illness.
