To everything there is a season,
a time for every purpose under the sun.
A time to be born and a time to die;
a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
a time to kill and a time to heal ...
a time to weep and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn and a time to dance ...
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to lose and a time to seek;
a time to rend and a time to sew;
a time to keep silent and a time to speak;
a time to love and a time to hate;
a time for war and a time for peace.

I think the writer of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 (about 650 BC) got it from Bob Dylan. Dylan wrote a song called Turn Turn Turn, and the writer of Ecclesiastes liked it so much he included it in his book.

There s a time to live and a time, to die,
so we shouldn t let, precious time, go by!
No one knows, what tomorrow will bring,
just live and enjoy everyday!
There s no use, in fretting your time, away!
Time, has a way, of going by very fast.
Before you turn around, another year, has past!
We have the habit, of putting things off and
then, it never gets done.
I think this is true, of everyone!
It s good to take the bull by the horns and see your dreams, come to
light!
All of us, have them. We just have to
be made, to see,
the light!

It is part of a quotation from the bible:
Ecclesiastes 3
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.
It also formed the basis of the lyrics to Bob Dylan's song 'Turn Turn Turn'

Yes, it's a song and I think it's called Turn. To everything, turn turn turn. There is a season turn turn turn. And a time to every purpose under Heaven....a time for peace, I swear it's not too late.

i'm not sure about a poem
but pete seger's song lyrics have that phrase:
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven
A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven
A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven
A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven
A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late
