You can't overtake the last person because last person means there is no-one behind you

If you're running a race around a track, and you overtake last place, you retain whatever place you had before you overtook last place.

If it's a race that doesn't have laps, then you can't overtake last place. Because you're it. You can't overtake yourself.

You cant overtake the last place cause the person in the last position will be you!

unless the race umpires mess up the race counts, you should still be in the first place if you are the first one to overtake the last one in the race.

your in a running race and you overtake 2nd place what position are you in?

If on a circuit you are still in the same place you were, you have just "lapped" the last place runner.

You can't overrun the person in last place you would be in last if you did!
