I have seen the commercials that say if you eat Quaker oatmeal everyday you will lose weight and stay in shape. Does anyone know if that is true with any brand of oatmeal or just Quaker? Also, will adding raisins and a little bit of sugar in it defeat the purpose of eating oatmeal to lose weight? One more thing, how many meals do you have to replace with the oatmeal for this to work? Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it.

I had some oatmeal this morning and it is really filling. You wouldn't think it would be so filling. That is great

Yes, eating a good breakfast that fills you up, is good for losing weight. And yes, oatmeal falls into that category. No, it doesn't have to be Quaker. Adding the raisins is good, but try a sugar substitute like Splenda. I wouldn't substitute lunch or dinner though. You still need fruits and vegetables! Just use portion control, eat less red meat and more fish and poultry. Drink more water, and green or black tea.

quaker oats are oats which are fibers, easily removable to ur system. in addition to loosing weight, ul get to lower bad cholesterol levels as well.

i think adding enough raisins and bit of sugar won't spoil ur losing intention of weight... raisins are good exchange to gain energy and a bit of sugar which is a glucose will make u on the go.

this is ok, but eating fiber diet will help u too, not plain like this... proteins such as chicken meat or lean meats are nutritious too, just avoid fat-belly producing food such as pure carbo--- the potato fries, spag, pizza ,corns and corn based flour..and surely ul stay in shape.

my sister is in an oatmeal diet. it doesn't necessarily Quaker. she eats oatmeal for lunch everyday and eats fish at night or anything that has protein. she avoids carbohydrates. it's working. also she exercises everyday. it's healthy, she's doing fine.

by the way, just add fruits in your oatmeal.
