I blame the parents for letting the children get away with so much , such as the movies they watch, the violent games they are allowed to play, etc... Also I blame the people who whine and cry about how spanking is abuse. How even a slap on the hand to show a child that a flame on a stove after they have tried to touch it, is abuse. Come on! There is a difference between abuse and spanking or slapping a hand. My son(ages 9,7 and 2) are not allowed to play violent video games, or watch horror movies, or leave the yard when playing outside and so on. But they sure do know all about these things from the other kids at school, even church . They will come home and tell me why dont you let us watch The seed of CHucky or whatever..My friends get to watch it. What kind of parent lets their child watch that kind of movie. Its violent, grotesque, gory, and not to mention every other word is the F word. I blame parents mostly for not being around their children enough to give proper discipline. I could go on and on about the stupid cartoons on TV that degrade parents and teach the kids to be disrespectful. Kids have become exposed to much more violence and a mixture of parents not disciplining. Its a bad combo.

It is definetly the parents fault for not raising them properly, punishing properly, teaching them morals, and teaching them love and respect...parents today are so into themselves and into earning money, etc...
That is why I decided I AM NOT going to have my children grow up being disrespectful towards anyone -I believe in what the Bible says about the rod of discipline -I am homeschooling my children and am with them ALL the time and constantly and on my 2 and 3 year olds already about their behavior.
It disgusts me to see children act that way. I live in an apartment complex with a lot of children and I see a lot of things out of these children that just blow my mind- little girls walking around alone - even acting promiscous doing dances outside of their house, little boys talking back to their mothers, and literally swearing up a storm because they think they are cool -and one day I was driving (back when I was a smoker), through my cigarette out the window, and saw a little boy (had to be no more than 8 years old) riding his bike alone on the main road, and he stopped and picked up my butt and smoked it...boy did I get furious but I thought about his parents as well... Where were his parent ???? My goodness, nothing urks me as much as this kind of stuff!!!! (However, a week or two later, I did quit smoking)
PARENTS NEED TO RAISE UP AND TAKE A STAND! - if you dont, wait twenty years and see what your grandkids are like - You wont be proud of them, thats for sure!

I'm sorry but I might offend others!!:
I think what went wrong is
To many latch key kids
Parents not being able to discipline children anymore with out them threatening to call DCFS
Kids no longer have manners!
Dont respect elders!
And the parents are to blame
Broken homes
Not saying all kids that fall in all or some of those categories will be bad or anything but now that its more common you see these things alot more

Hi! I’m a 13-year old young lady and I agree with you that we should blame the parents of those children. But actually, you should consider a lot of factors. These children could possibly be engaged to different environments (BAD), that is why they are acting like that. Here, from where I am, our environment is much taken attention. Honestly, the media is just trying to make it look worse. Do you agree with me?

I'm not sure it wasn't always this way. News travels so fast today. We know instantly what has happened a world away. Also the news media reports only the sensational. All we hear about are the banks that got robbed. We never hear about all the banks that didn't get robbed.

their parents! children have no established rules to follow, no morals, no manners. we are turning out generations of children not ready for the world because everything must be explained to a child. parents are losing control of their children. people will blame this on television, but parents need to monitor what their children watch.

in one sense yes, you could blame the parents but I also blame the fact that we can't spank our kids for fear of being charged with child abuse,,,there is a difference between discipline and abuse,,the kids today all know it too,,they look at you and say,,"you can't touch me" and they are right,,,,if we can't discipline our kids then of course they are going to think they can get away with whatever they want,,,but then life rears it's ugly head and the kids can't deal with that and take it out on anyone around them or anyone who gets in their way

it is the parents fault, they teach their kids to hate anything different and if they're violent to the kids, then the kids get violent with others too, we need to teach our kids that we're all the same and that violence is not the solution...
