Nero was a Roman Emperor who had burned down the temple of Jerusalem and because it was under his rule that Peter and Paul were both executed. He was also noted to be responsible for the murder of his mother - this spirit would be known as a murderous, prideful, rebellious, and aldulterous spirit. Cain killed his brother Abel- this is a murderous, jealous, and rebellious spirit. Belial is noted to be a spirit of lawlessness, pride, and arrogance. It has been said that this spirit stayed on Egypt while the spirit of light (God) left with the Israelites during Moses' time. Legion (meaning an army of 3,000-6,000) was an army of demons that inhabited a man who was known in his town to be "insane". This man was delivered from the bondage of demons by Jesus, and the demons were forced into a herd of pigs who would rather die than be inhabited by demons. Ironic, huh? (Matthew 8:28-34, Mark5:1-20, Luke 8:26-39)
Judas was a man chosen by God to be a disciple but held onto his spirit of greed and because he was looking to be rich according to the world's standard's instead of God's, betrayed Jesus. The spirits are all a part of satan's work because when he was cast out of heaven so was 1/3 of the angels. This movie I have seen and at first did not want to see it, but as i watched it I saw that it was to show that we still our battling spirits, demons, whatever anyone wants to call them. We are in a battle and need to know how to fight them. Read the book of Ephesians. Believe it or not there are still Christians who don't believe in satan or demons

The prior answers gave you the explanation of the demons.
I want to add that in the movie the names of the demons are NOT: Cain, Nero, Judas, Legion. Belial and Lucifer are demons (Lucifer of course being the devil). However when she says "I once dwelt within..." that means that the demons were once IN Cain, Nero, Judas and Legion. They are not the names of the actual demons, they are just stating who they once possessed.

The piece she played on the Piano is "Prelude in C-sharp minor, opus 3" It was composed by Sergei Rachmaninoff. That scene really freaked me out since I think it was the demons playing a mind game with the priest. Maybe a prelude of the bad things to come. I haven't read the book, but that's my take on it.

This is a movie. How does this pertain to religion & spirituality? Because it's a horror flick? Legion=what the demons called themselves in the Bible in a possession. Belial=demon based on Babylon belief. Judas=Betrayer of Jesus. Cain=First son of Adam and Eve. Nero=insane Roman emperor. Song...no idea.

Steph w has given you the names. It is thought that the Anti-Christ (666) will be someone like Nero. Legion was a group of demons because there were so many. They, by permission, went into the pigs, and went over a cliff and drowned (the pigs).

Legion: Name of the army of demons that Jesus exorcised from someone in the bible (i think they went into pigs after that)

Judas: betrayer of Jesus

Cain: Son of Adam and Eve, killed his brother

Nero: Roman empirer who burned down rome and blamed the Christians

That's all I know. And that is one movie I won't watch after dark.
