My cannon Lide 35 Scanner creates lines across any printed pic?

Even small colour prints eg 6x4. Is this normal with cannon scanners. I have tried every thing. The scanner is not old but has been the same since i puchased it on Ebay 3 Months ago.

ok, clean the surface of your scanner ! or delete the software and install it again .
