Those christians who behave like that are false and should not be regarded as Christians.....
they may know the Bible inside out, but that is merely a head knowlege. when that becomes a heart knowlege then you will see the true nature of Christ through them.
see fruits of the spirit Galatians 5 v 22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self‑control. Against such things there is no law
galatians 5 v 25 says this:
Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit
I hope that helps
God Bless

Man, lots of biased answers in here. It's simple, people are people. Some are good, some aren't. And it's not just Christians, hon. I see a lot of mean atheists on this board who seem to live to put down Christians. You're question should be, Why are some people so mean and unfriendly?

Christians who are mean and unfriendly have not experienced the new birth, being born again, having a new change in character. As they accept Jesus with a repentant heart, the Holy Spirit comes in and resides in their minds and change their old habits, the old man known as the flesh do not have mastery anymore. But, he try to take over again through our feelings. But, we have a choice to allow the Holy Spirit to rein or the flesh. Remember temptation is all around us and we have to choice to continue to allow the Holy spirit to direct our life. This struggle with the flesh will always be their until Jesus comes. Satan's work is to cause the old man, the flesh, our bad character to be dominant because this is his character. And if we continue to have his character we will be lost for all eternity.

Because Religion does not "change" people... people choose to change.... People look at the bible and see it as multiple choice... (i will do whatever the hell i want and still go to heaven).
The truth is that all religion is a scam, it is totally false.
Religion was made up to control the masses, and to make a select few rich and powerful. People choose religion out of fear, religion preys upon the human fear of the unknown. If you really take a objective look at religion you would see right through the lies. To be totally honest ... there is absolutly no proof that any religion is true, yet people kill over religion, that just shows you the stupidity of the human species and how easily fooled we are.

It sure is. #1- not everyone calling themselves a Christian actually is. #2- even real Christains can be undertaught or untaught on this. They may be new in their relationship with God, or they may just be unlearned. They may realize they have a problem and be actively dealing with it, but just havent completely gotten past it yet. They may just have some growing up to do.
The popular saying that "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven." is true to a point. We mess up just like everyone else. We have bad moods and bad days. Sometimes we let our mouths run faster than our brains. We are sinners who needed Christ to save us just like everyone else. But we then do need to actively seek to be like Him, and we have to remember to humble ourselves both before God and other people, something that just isn't emphasized enough in most churchs. We should aim for perfection (and seek to improve through the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, not our own effort) and we just might at least reach a higher standard. We do have the power to do that through the Lord.

Mean and unfrendly are personality traits. I am sure that there are mean and unfriendly muslims as well as jews too.
You are right; it is against faith but we are not perfect. I am a muslim and I am sure there are things about me that do not conform with Islam but I am struggling to make myself a better person in the eyes of Allah.

because they don't get it. i admit i was mean and unfriendly to people around me because i thought i had to do certain things to uphold my beliefs in Jesus. its easy to call Christians hypocrites - but really they are just normal, flawed people, like everyone else. its a learning process to follow Christ - God has mercy and grace on me (despite my meanness) but He still loves me. Everything He's promised me - is open for everyone else too

Yes, that's the opp. of Jesus, I agree.
But some times when I'm out of touch with Jesus,I'm ashamed to say I'm too like that .
That's why we must ask for God's grace, and be kept constantly under the guiding power of God,because we are born with that sinning nature.

do christians have to be set examples of jesus? actually to tell you the truth nobody knows for a fact how jesus was concepted as.
he could've been a male escort for the women or he could've smoked weed with the disciples. maybe he got liquored up every friday night and went to strip clubs. the only crap we know about "jesus" is the fables or stories you read or hear.
