You must not tell your sin to others. Cover your sin and ask repentance from the God, Most Merciful. Every child born is a Muslim and not a sinner. He/she is absolutley sin less and there is no original sin. Allah has already forgiven that sin committed by Adam and Eve (PBUT).
Muslims fast this entire month from dawn to sun set. During this time they are not only supposed to refrain frm eating, drinking and smoking but also they must control their tongue, their eyes, their hands and their minds from evil thoughts. They must be very polite, very caring, very sharing and feed the poor and hungry after they break fast. They must also pay charity. They do read a lot of Quran this month and attend special prayers called Trawih in night where each day they listen to 1/30th of Quran so inone month they finish the entire Quran. Ther are hundreds fo thousnads of Huffaz who remember entire Quran from A to Z. if they make a single mistake of a letter or word, immediately they are corrected by someone behind. Literally in millions of Masajid (Mosques) throughout the world same Quran is read by heart. There is not a difference of a single letter. Interestingly Quran was revealed 1450 years ago and it is still protected in its original langauge and it is as fresh today as on day one. This ithe last and the final edition of all divine books and sicne it is the last, The God promised in Quran that He will protect it and no one can change it. Fro lat 1450 years Quran has stood the test. Every Muslim rmember some partof Quran and children as young as six, seven years memroize the entire Quran by heart in about 12-18 months which itself is a miracle. Astonishingly many those who memroize do not have Arabic as their mother tongue. Muslims fast the entire month as Jews and Christians (When they were Muslims) used to fast. Unfortunately both Jews and Christians not only forgot their book of God but also forgot their original name and the name of their religion i.e. the religion of Moses and Jesus (Peace be upn them). Teh word Jews was adopted from the anem of a powerful tribe Judea and the word Christian was taken from the enemies of Jesus (PBUH) who ridiculed followers of Jesus as Christians. Unfortaunatley when Rabi Paul became powerful, hte followers of Jesus left most of the teachings of Jesus and started worhsipping him, quite in contradiction to teachings of Jesus (PBUH) who never, never claimed to be a god or son of God, The one and only God is not a human being and is free of all weaknesses, aging etc. and He does not need any children and He has no wife. Jesus will deny as Quran says on the day of judgement that he ever told people to worhsip him. He has always asked people to worhsip one and only God.
Muslims give thanks to the God by fasting for giving them the Quran. Muslims also thank and fast fro two days on 9th and 10th Muharram of Hijri Muslim calender when Allah (The God, in Arabic) rescued Moses and his followers. Of course Muslims consider all Prophets and Messengers of Allah as Muslims menaing obedient to the God and consider their religion as Islam too. Muslims beleive in all the true Prophets and in all their original books e.g. Torah and Injeel of Moses and Jesus respectively.

We do not confess our sins to anybody except a priest .The reason we do this is because when the priest absolves us we know beyond doubt that we have been forgiven. We live in a physical world and how can we be sure if we have been forgiven or not? That is why the cross has great meaning for us (it is physical). It is the agreement that God made with man.You muslims see this as idolatory.

We don't need a priest to confess. We can go staight to God.
In the bible it says to confess your sins to one another, but that isn't to get forgivenss from God.
It does several things to talk to each other.
1) It lets those around you know you are human
2) It is a good way to share your testimony
3) You can fix a wrong you did to someone else
4) You can help lift one another up and gain an accountability partner
As for the last one: Take AA for example - they can hook you up with someone to call and someone to check in on you to help you stay sober.

No I don't believe that telling your sin to someone else is a sin in itself. Depending on your religious affiliation you can confess to a priest. But If you are not Catholic and do not confess to a clergy member who is bound to silence, then I would say to be careful who you make these confessions to. You may burden this person with withholding these "sins", or you may open yourself up to having these "sins" revealed by the person you trusted.

That is not all christian religions, that is the catholic religion. you have to repent for your sins, you are required to go back to the person you offended and ask for their forgiveness and apologize however, you do not need to tell the world or anyone but God for that matter otherwise. Only in the Catholic domination do they require you confess your sins to a priest who then intervenes for you. I was raised catholic, that was one of many issues i personally had with being catholic. God Bless

I'll quote from the Quran to answer your question which you find funny about intermediaries.
12:97 They said: "O our father! ask for us forgiveness for our sins, for we were truly at fault."
12:98 He said: "Soon will I ask my Lord for forgiveness for you: for he is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."
The brothers of Yusuf (Joseph) were ashamed of their act and sinful that they are they are ashame to ask Allah directly, so they asked their father who was a Prophet and thus Infallible, Pure, Chaste, Innocent to ask Allah for their forgiveness.
Intercession is in the Quran dear.

In Arabic it is called "mujaharah" or making your sin in public or telling people about it is a sin..because it helps in the spread of the sin..

Jesus gave his priests the power to forgive sins in his name.
I think it's far less strange to confess sins to a priest than kneeling on a mat with your a.rse in the air while wailing.

i dont think you have to confess your sin to any man. No man is perfect,or ever will be. The only man that walked this earth and was perfect was Jesus Christ. If you confess your sins to god, he will forgive yo no matter what...a priest/pastor will only judge you.

I don't see telling about a sin to someone is a sin (unless maybe you boast about it). We confess our sin to God. If I should sin against you, then I should confess it to you and ask four forgiveness. I might ask someone to pray for me regarding a particular area in my life, where sin has occurred.
