of sugare.......is sugar necessary to dry them out? or are they considering the sugar in the fruit......Thanks so much.

They are high in sugar naturally. The drying process reduces the size of the fruits, therefore concentrating the sugar.

Yes, sometimes sugar is added to dried fruits. Cranberries for example are naturally very bitter, and sugar is added so people will be more willing to eat them. Sugar is also added because people like things sweet.

Look at the ingredients listing. Does it list sugar in the igredients listing? If it doesn't specifcally list sugar or high fructose corn syrup then there is no added sugars. There will still be some sugar on the chart but that is natural sugar.
