hi we haven't been for a while but the last couple of times we went we booked deluxe. the self catering lodges were great they have 3 bedrooms and are quite big.
but to be honest with the cost of food on the site you would probably be better going half board. this way all of the kids can have what they want without having to keep paying out.
hope this helps

I used to go to Butlins Minehead every year as a kid and we had a brilliant holiday.

It always works out best to pay a little bit more as we stayed in lower priced accommodation one year and it wasn't brilliant.

Enjoy your holiday - the kids will love it but you will be knackered!!!
