i've got one on my right side too..
i think it makes ppl look more charming.
Dimples are genetically inherited and are a dominant trait. Dimples on each cheek are a relatively common occurrence for people with dimples. A rarer form is the single dimple, which occurs on one side of the face only. Dimples themselves are actually caused by having shorter muscles in certain areas of the face.
Dimples are considered attractive in some cultures. Babies commonly have dimples, but sometimes these disappear (or become less noticeable) as the muscles lengthen with age; consequently, dimples are often associated with youth.

I don't, but:
Dimples are visible indentations of the skin, caused by underlying flesh, which form on some people's cheeks when they smile.

I had one dimple on my face too, then a dog bit me one the face. The scarring left me with another dimple on the other side of my face in about the right place to match the other one.
Weird, huh?

I don't have dimples... the only point i know of is so you can look at someone who has them and go "Awwwww.... so cute!!!"
f you sport those charming creases on either side of your lips every time you crack a smile, you have one little gene (and your parents, of course) to thank.
Each physical trait you possess is represented by a pair of genes -- one each from mom and pop. This pair can either be a combination of two dominant genes, one dominant and one recessive gene, or two recessive genes.
All you need is one dominant gene to inherit a particular trait. Dimples, along with other traits such as freckles, a widow's peak, a cleft chin, and yes, even bushy eyebrows, are passed along by a single dominant gene. If you have dimples, you have the dominant trait (D-). If you don't, you have the recessive (dd). It's that simple.

I do - both sides when I smile and I love them! They don't have a point as such, just depends on how your face is constructed - but I do think they are cute and sexy - my chap has a fantastic huge grin which gives him dimples - yummy!
