Don't worry he will learn to adjust later on. My ex used to be awkward. Ours was the first relationship he had. He is self-conscious as to what others might think if he walks around, hold hands or just be around a female. He must be conservative. That's what I thought. The next time I knew, he was already making his thing with women. Guess what, he ended up marrying someone else. Practice was just what he needed then.

It takes some time for a guy to feel comfortable around you. It took me about two weeks or more to finally feel at ease around my guy. Just sweet talk him, call him petty names (baby, honey, etc.) tell him you love him, if you guys are already going together. Sometimes guys are just nervous around us because they havent gotten used to you. Sorry if that sounded weird. Just try spending more time with him in places where he's comfortable, (his house, or something) so he wont be afraid to be himself. Since he's in his own home.
If you don't see any improvement in a few days or weeks, maybe you should have a little talk to him about what's going on.

People act out from nervousness and insecurity. Take some long walks together. Learn to talk as adults. Help him get his feelings out. he will calm down and you will be happier.

Maybe he is feeling himself around you. Maybe this is as good as it gets. If you already feel the need to change him you are in trouble.

You assume his behavior means he is ill at ease when it may not be that at all. If you really like him, accept him as is. If you can't do that then you may as well look elsewhere.

I guess he's new at this, being around girls. Give him time and do things to build his confidence. He'll come around.

just don't flirt around,,,
it'll make him more nervous,,
i am shy around girls too,,
and girls flirting around makes me more nervous,
try introducing him to your girl friends and do things he loves to do..
usually, it works,,,
