Hi All,

Please suggest some ideas to control our feelings(happy/sad) to keep our mind in balance.

Eating a healthy balanced diet, getting enough sleep, staying away from potentially stressful situations, exercising. All of these not just one or two.

it helps to know that all people have bad times. maybe you can make a plan on what will work for you if ever you are in a situation where you feel you will loose control. maybe you could go take a nice bath, play calming music, drink herbal tea, or just wait 5 minutes before you say a word. hopefully by then you will have calmed down and can deal with your emotions. do what works for you, and if you have a plan in place, you will be prepared when the need arises.

Try mindfulness its a therapy theory.Mindfulness is the practice whereby a person is intentionally aware of his or her thoughts and actions in the present moment, non-judgmentally. Mindfulness is applied to both bodily actions and the mind's own thoughts and feelings. In Buddhism, the second kind of mindfulness is considered a prerequisite for developing insight and wisdom.

the answer is truly hidden in your question that is balance.
you dont feel happy when you are happy and similarly you will not feel sad when such situation arises.
that does not mean that one should become numb but that is the balance. accepting the things as they come without trying to change them helps. and a time comes when the words happy and sad will carry no meaning when they become one. Bhagwat gita tells in detail (ch. 4/22)

By keeping check on the emotional flow your mind creates with that situation. Try to see the situation as you are there, but you just won't react to that time/space co-ordinate. Just become silence. And you will leave emotions/feelings behind. Of course, you will become more than you.

Actually the things which differentiate us from the animals are emotions.but there will be some situations where we should control our emotions.when u r feeling sad or depressed talk with ur dear friend or with ur mom if she is like ur friend.oterwise read some books or if u believe in god pray for sometime.meditate,eat well,sleepand always think positively afterall life is to live.

Divert your mind towards something other interesting. Keep yourself away from exciting or depressing environment. Be fresh & positive, think postive, behave positive, go positive. Always think about present without going deep into the past or future.

Pray well and through constant meditation you can keep your emotions under control. This happens only when you are very sincere and over a period of time only

have u ever heard abt reiki , if not then hear it from me it is related to spiritual and mental health , if u really want a solution then find a good reiki master and take reiki it will bring u peace of mind and total control over ur life , all the best.
