He is where he belongs. He should never see the light of day as a free man.

I believe he'd be killed if he was released.
What he did was shameful.
I don't believe ha has a mental illness at all...Probably as Andy Warhol said..He wanted his 15mins of fame.
And oh how he got it.
If he were released you'd have every sick journalist wanting to buy his story and make him rich...
Where is the justice in that..He... rich when he has destroyed a family and one of the greatest talents ever born.
Leave him to rot.....along with every other waster who thinks life is so cheap it can be taken in a whisp of a breath.

Never. He carried out a pre-meditated murder, was and is deranged, and the person he killed had so much more to share with the world. I know that applies to any murder victim, but this was a world icon, and Chapman only killed him to make a name for himself. Now he's gone from Caufield to Jesus. Let him stay right where he is. For the duration of his sad life.

life should mean life, does that only apply because he killed lennon?
if he had killed joe public he would probably be out now and move to another area, maybe a new identity, like in the case of jamie bulgers murders! life didn't mean life there and what they did was much ******* worse, and they are now supported by the state and have evrything they could ever want!!!!!!!!
if he is released all the sick jornalists would wan to interview him, giving him more recognition for his crime, eventually somebody would murder him, does that make it ok?

I can relate to hammy's answer! Musically, he did the world a favour, in my opinion. The fact that he killed John Lennon (as opposed to Joe Public) is neither here nor there. The question is whether he has served his time and is no longer a danger to society. If he'd killed Joe Public, he may well have been out by now. There is no denying, however, that he wouild not be long for this world were he to be released without protection.

This human slug has no remorse and worse claims to be "saved" by Jesus. He is still scum, a bent headed freak who should forever remain locked up.
