There is no specific exercise for ANY area of the body.Exercising a specific muscle group does not cause fat metabolism there.
You must maintain a healthy lower calorie diet.Eat less carbohydrates and more whole foods and protein.Protein is helpful because it's the highest thermic food.
Going for a walk in the evening can be helpful but weight training is one of the best exercises you can do to lose weight.
One of the ways this works is by stimulating new muscle growth thus metabolizing more calories even at rest(about 50 cal per pound of muscle).
The fact of the matter is you MUST just stick with it.Following some of the guidelines here will help.
It is also unnecessary to drink 8 8 ounce glasses of water per day.
Calculate you BMR and consume less calories than you burn.
Consider a supplement of dehydoepiandrosterone(DHEA).This is a natural OTC hormone that declined in your bady with age. It's been approved for OTC sale by the FDA and it's not one of these fad fat burners. It's not a fat burner at all.
PS:Thank you so much for spelling lose correctly.I hate it when people say they want to loose weight.
EDIT:I had to delete all of my links because this is apparently a violation.

well, they do tend to miss thyroid problems sometimes, although I'm not trying to freak you out. I don't know what to tell ya. Probably largely genetic. You could use various techniques to up your metabolism. I once read an intelligent sounding article suggesting a couple of weeks with some extra calories and then a couple of weeks with lowered calories, back and forth. I'm sure there is a combination of over the counter vitamins and herbs that will help significantly, but it could be difficult to find it. You should take a multivitamin and probably a calcium-magnesium-zinc pill. Also a flax oil and/or a fish oil capsule. Just cause. You might try cinnamon pills, or ginseng pills (some say no ginseng for women though) Fiber controls appetite. Kefir yogurt drink is a great snack. Muscle consumes energy even when you sleep, so perhaps strength training would help. Make sure you practice good form.
I dunno. Good luck.

You cannot lose weight fast enough because at your advanced
age of 48 years, your body metabolism rate has slowed down
somewhat. It's natural at this age and there's nothing to worry
about.
However, you can do the following to reduce more weight by:
dieting - food intake. Make sure you only take small portions
of food during breakfast and dinner. No lunch is to be taken.
Avoid fatty, oily and sugary foods, like fried fatty meats, butter,
heavy oily dishes etc. Eat healthy food, like chicken breast -
white meat without skin, steamed fish cutlets, white rice, wheat bread, fresh vegetables of spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, onions
and fresh fruits of oranges, pineapples, papaya and drink lots of
water etc.
At the same time, do your routine exercises of at least 60 mins
which helps your heart and blood circulation better.
I'm sure you'll definitely lose weight slowly but surely and you'll
look beautiful with a better figure.

Lose weight with negative calorie foods
The foods, which utilize more calories to digest than the calorie foods in fact have, are known as negative calorie foods. It is harder for the body to consume calories from these negative calorie foods. I mean to say that our body has to work hard in order to take out calories from these foods. With this kind of food very small amount of calorie actually turn in to fat, as there is very small amount of calorie available.

Add me to your "can't lose no matter what I do" club. Although I will say that about 5 years ago I did Atkins low carb plan and I did lose about 35 lbs. and I didn't mind doing it but it ends up being a lifestyle and if you can't commit to it you're doomed.

Dont worry sweetheart - i got the same problem. No matter how hard I work out, or how much I control my eating, my weight refuses to reduce.
I am told that its my metabolism thats causing it, and I have been assured that I need to continue working out - apparently thats the only solution.
