I think you should go with a deep red and a white, or cream. It would look lovely and be a great Christmas time wedding. You can do a lot with that. And hopefully the church or venue you're getting married in will already be decorated for christmas. Lots of lights and maybe poinsettias to accent the red in your wedding. Congrats and good luck!

I had a very elegant wedding and I used a mauve/rose (not red) and antique Blue for all the gifts arrangements and my brides maids wore a very soft cream dress that i found at a small side shop. they all wore pearls too. Then i took the ribbons that i found (was also the insperation for my colours) I made very cute loops and glued a very small rosett at the waste to hide the part of the ribbon that came together. everybody still talks about how nice it was..the best part it was so inexpensive, and some of them have taken off the loops of ribbon and leave the rose.. they have worn them at a wedding and dinner and holidays...etc so i gues what i am saying...go to a place like Micheals place and look at where thier wedding stuff is including ribbons. Good luck to you and Congratulations to the both of you...

A Deep Red with Silver, or a Dark Purple.
Great colors for a winter wedding...contrast off of the White of Winter

Black and white is very chic. So is brown and white, or brown and ivory.

Since it'll be right after Christmas (I don't know if you celebrate Christmas or not, but chances are that some of your guests might), you should consider burgundy and white/ivory, hunter green and white/ivory, or burgundy, hunter green AND white/ivory. If you're Jewish, think about a combination of navy blue, gold, and white/ivory to reflect Hanukkah.

If you're getting married in a church, think about the fact that the church will most likely still be decorated from Christmas, and your colors will kind of need to revolve around those decorations so they don't completely clash.

Keep an open mind. Don't have a certain color. Try a theme. I got married a week ago, and I had a fall wedding. I used leaves, mums, and pumpkins. A few flowers too. A winter wedding could be gorgeous.

The best advice is to go with a combination of his favorite color and yours. (Hopefully they will intertwine). Keep the colors dark and rich for a winter wedding.
My husband and I used deep royal purple, gold and champagne colors in the florals and put everyone in black for the evening wedding. It was very elegant and inexpensive because you can find black gowns anywhere and they are always stylish. Then you can choose your favorite florals and dress it up any way you would like. I chose an ivory and champagne gown to contrast the others.
Pick the color of your gown and work it in with your other colors.

Burgundy and neutrals would be really nice. I was just at a wedding where the girls were in Burgundy and the decorations were all done in whites and golds it looked really nice. You could also use a lot of little white x-mas lights to decorate it would be so pretty.

i would go for a deep green and silver, or the ever traiditional burgundy and gold. after something a bit more funky try icy blues and slivers, hope for snow and keep it all white.
alternatively, pick your favourite colours, thats what i did (cerise pink and lots of it!)

Gold and black....I had a friend that even had gone to the high end stores and bought their leftover poinsettias to decorate the church and reception area. It tied in the season, yet everything wasn't green and red.
GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATULATIONS

you could do an icy shimmery light blue as an accent then use a deeper blue or purple for the base color. for flower combo you could do pastel roses with the icy shimmery light blue as a wrap around the stems. hope all the best for you
