First of all don't resort to meds - they can be addictive and ur just opening up a whole new set of problems for urself if u take them.
The best thing u've got going for u right now is that u recognise ur facing a problem. So u can take steps to fight it. Try meditation, yoga or other forms of exercise. Take up a new hobby or something. Fill ur life with productive activities.
Look around u....there are ppl suffering far worse things than u. So count ur blessings, thank God and be positive no matter what.

Could just be a seasonal thing when the seasons changed it can cause people to become depressed
It depends on how long it last...what other systems you have...to say if its a something serious. If it last longer than a month or two go see a Dr.
Depression changes the way you feel about everything You really don't want to do too much you may cry often things you liked you don't have interest in any more, and your sexuality but usually no desire. Medication can help

Doctors can prescribe drugs that help in some cases. Before you mess around with that, though, you can clean up your diet and get some vigorous cardiovascular exercise often. Of course, if you can rally yourself around a personal goal or purpose, that's the best. But barring that, clean up your diet and see if you naturally start making some changes.
I'm going to copy and paste something I tell depressed people:
_____
anyone who is depressive should take a good multivitamin most days with a meal. while you are at it take a calcium-magnesium-zinc pill. I won't go in to detail here about why. just do it, it's not that expensive. also, get lots of beneficial fatty acids - the omega 3-6-9 stuff. you could take flaxseed oil and fish oil pills or eat lots and lots of olive oil. do shots of it. mmmmm.
then try getting lots of sunlight. get some vigorous cardiovascular exercise as often as you can. practise good posture and learn a little about basic yoga postures and t'ai chi warmups.
eat a varied very high protein, high fiber diet low in saturated fats and refined carbs. shun additives and preservatives. you want whole foods, not overcooked. eat green or colourful vegetables. eat tree nuts, eat fish, eat more fish, the more nutritious fruits (berries), herbs, and some WHOLE grains. don't eat sweets or drink sweet/sour drinks. instead eat fruit. diet really really really matters. it has a slow cumulative effect.
stay hydrated. this can be a matter of simply avoiding certain foods that dehydrate you. try to get plenty of regular, restful sleep.
that's all that comes to mind. you might wanna check if you notice any effect from ginseng pills. watch the caffeine, especially late in the day. good luck.
____
and I should add that some people say women shouldn't use ginseng.

SAD Seasonal Affective Disorder is usually associated with low sex drive, but paradoxically, there is an early autumn manic phase when the opposite is true - don't worry, it doesn't usually last long.
You can effect your own body chemistry by what you ingest, think and do - it is always good to keep a diary, then you can remember what works for you.

there are many various explanations to depression depending on your current situation and how it was triggered.
here are ways to combat depression (in my opinion):
1. talk to a friend... a trustworthy friend
2. pamper yourself... self-investment is a must
3. keep yourself distracted by doing other activities that interest you
4. continue going on casual dates... doesn't have to get physical, but the interaction with others is healthy
5. if you're a religious person, pray!

Consult a clinical psychiatrist. Escitalopram 10mg (Lexapro or Cipralex) should be enough for you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexapro
