would you?
Remember, the hypothetical here is that you KNOW God has asked you to do this.
And, if you are going to try to say "God would never ask that" - remember that God asked Abraham to kill his own son, which is only one instance among many in the Bible where God commands His subjects to kill.

I know the story of Abraham, ok? Besides, plenty of other accounts of God commanding people to kill.

lots of dodging the question here. Either you would or you wouldn't. Either you defy God or not.

Well, if God made us in his own image, then that must mean he could be a psychotic murderous lunatic himself, and then he said "Thou shalt not kill" which might make him a hypocrite....?

God commanded many to kill - you are right, but in that time of the world, people were worshipping sun gods, and moon gods and star gods. They were building alters and making SACRIFICES for thosd gods. God wanted to reach the people on a level that they could understand, so He chose Abraham to tell them to built alters and make sacrifices to Him. That He was a God to be feared and He commanded killings as evidence of His existance. It was a type of worship that they could understand. The world evolved again and that no longer was working, so He sent his Son Jesus to be the final and ultimate sacrifice. He wanted us to know now, that He is a loving God, a merciful God and a caring God, so my answer is NO - my God wouldn't want me to do something like that. As we have changed and progressed and transcended and evolved, so has His will for us. I believe it is time for yet another change, fore what He has done through Christ is no longer working.......will it be the antichrist, the end of times, who knows????

I'm no christian but I do know that the bible says God asked Abraham to kill his own son but didn't pull through; it was a test.
Slight difference there.

No, if God was a God worth worshipping I would have to believe that he is good as he claimed that he is good and loving. If God were to ask me to do that kind of thing I will have to become an atheist and live the good and loving life than to serve an evil God.

Welp, Jesus was God. Jesus was angry at Peter for lopping of a slave's ear. Hence, God would not ask a Christian to do such.
You have to understand context. All the killing God asked of the Hebrews was to ensure their seperation from the world. It was, in the long run, to ensure the birth of the Messiah. After His birth, the absolute necessity to preserve the Hebrew line's purity wasn't there.
But, if you mean that if I lived as a Hebrew, in pre-Christian times, and I was stuck in the shoes of one under the rulership of a Judge or Judaic nobility (or was the Judge/noblewoman myself), then, yes, I would kill, if I *knew 100%* that God had asked it of me. However, God has never asked anyone to take their own life. Those whom He has chosen to go to battle, He preserves their life if they follow His commands. The only people who commit suicide, in the Bible, are the people in situations of immense desperation (such as Saul and Judas). So, I'm certain God wouldn't ask me to kill via suicide-bombing.
But, if you mean, in the here and now, then there is no answer for it because it's a loaded question. Because God does not ask Christians to kill, and in fact commands us *not* to kill... hence it is impossible for me to *know* that God asked it.
It'd be like me asking you, "What does the Holy Spirit lead you to do right now?". It is something you cannot comprehend, because you do not have Him, and even answering hypothetically can never give a correct answer.
I'm sorry, but your question is immensely flawed, and sets up a strawman arguement. God does not call for suicide, but rather, the preservation of life. God does not call for Christians to kill, but rather to make peace. God only called pre-Christian Jews/Hebrews to kill for the sake of ensuring that Israel was seperate from the world.
I must rebute your arguement : If Darwin, in his old age, commanded you to believe in Christianity, would you? If you are going to say, "Darwin would never ask that" - remember that in his youth, he studied to be a preacher.
...it is an unanswerable question, because the question becomes a paradox, where no answer would be correct... the facts of the question are not totally correct. In your question, God does not ask Christians to kill... and in mine, Darwin cannot command anything of anyone.

Hey hold your rocking horse steady well. God will never ask that only in your imagination pal. The God gave His only son to save the world why would He do that? I think you are trying to manipulate the true believers.

He asked Abraham to kill his own son but when abraham was about to do it... god stopped him.... and told him he truely feared god and would be rewarded with many sons!
So although God may ask you to strap a bomb on and walk into a crowd of people...... he wouldn't actually allow you to go through with it!!!
Personally though..... I don't think I would.... I mustn't be a strong enough christian... but it's not my place to take life!
Good luck with your search!
