Has anyone any idea where I could get some technicl information on a water wheel to run an eco friendly household/shop ?

Try contacting the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales - they have loads of really good green technological alternatives and may be able to put you in touch with someone.

If you are in the UK you would need a license from the water company to*borrow their water*.
