Fast foods are full of bad fats (trans fats), and have very little nutritional value.

They also have high; salt (sodium), calories including fat calories, cholesterol, and saturated fat etc.

The first link give a fairly comprehensive break down of these nastie's, from many fast food outlets.

Eating fast food DOESN'T make you fat.

Eating fast food TO EXCESS however DOES.

Theres nothing at all wrong with a burger now and then.

BUT

If you eat that sort of stuff all the time

1) You are getting to much fat in your diet
2) It's normally a sign of general lazyness, and that will also help in increasing weight as you wont be getting enough exercise.

It does just come down to laziness. I eat at McDonald's 2-3 times a week, but I am nowhere near over weight. If they did just get up and do some sports or workouts, they could eat at a fast food place once a day and not be fat. (I am on a Varsity baseball team and a Varsity basketball team).

Fast food is so high in calories and fat. You have to burn those calories off during the day to prevent weight gain, and it's virtually impossible when you eat that many.
